PENNY is the brand discount store of REWE International AG. The company operates 300 stores in Austria with a product range of more than 1,900 items and around 2,700 employees. PENNY’s strength is Austrian freshness and brand quality. PENNY is the only domestic food discounter to offer a personal butcher service at 200 locations. The motto for fruit and vegetables is “freshness until checkout”, bread and pastries are baked fresh several times a day in the market oven. PENNY Czech Republic customers can find what they are looking for quickly instead of searching for it for a long time in the PENNY market halls. The new store design guides them through exciting themed worlds. You can find a wide range of qualitative and affordable Czech own brands including Crip Crop, Dobré Maso, Řezníkův Talíř and Staročech. Since 1997, PENNY has been the leading discounter in the Czech Republic, which is PENNY’s largest foreign market. The company operates 385 branches with around 7,500 employees. Investments are currently being made to modernise sites – with a focus on environmental protection, for example by reducing electricity consumption.
